The Palace of Versailles, just outside of central Paris, is one of the most well-known chateaux in France. It was the home of the royal family until the March on Versailles during the French Revolution.
The interior of the palace is ridiculously ornate, especially the famous Hall of Mirrors. The palace also houses its own full-size chapel, and outside the gardens cover nearly 2000 acres.
