Photos > [2009-12-18] Big Island Miscellaneous

I hadn't planned much for the brief stay in Hawai'i (the Big Island), and was pleased to get there and find out that there were lots of things to do & see, ranging from seeing the lava flows & craters at Volcanoes National Park to driving up nearly 14,000 feet to the snow-capped peak of Mauna Kea to see the sunset from above the clouds. Waipi'o Valley is also one of the most relaxing & scenic locations in Hawai'i. The steep road in & out is no fun on foot, but you can drive it if you've got 4WD, which saves an hour or two and lots of sweat coming back up the steep incline.
